Dr Mahathir to deliver special address at CEPSI 2018

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is expected to deliver a special address at the 22nd Conference of the Electric Power Supply Industry ( CEPSI) 2018 today.

Tenaga Nasional Bhd ( TNB) said the biennial conference, which is the largest energy and electricit­y supply industry conference ever to be organised in Malaysia, would be attended by nearly 2,000 delegates.

It begins today and ends on Thursday.

It said Dr Mahathir, who was the guest of the honour when Malaysia/TNB last hosted CEPSI in 1996, would deliver a special address at the conference after the opening ceremony today.

The opening ceremony will be held earlier in the day and will be opened by Energy, Technology, Science, Climate Change and Environmen­t Minister Yeo Bee Yin.

The conference, with the theme ‘ Reimaginin­g Utility of the Future’, will feature 17 highprofil­e speakers who would share their thoughts and knowledge on energy issues and discuss best practices on crucial issues, like global trends and shifts, future utility, sustainabi­lity, innovation­s, as well as a smarter future for the electricit­y supply industries.

TNB said with around 550 technical papers, five keynote sessions and over 100 exhibitors, CEPSI 2018 is geared to generate fruitful discussion­s and establish meaningful networking­s among delegates from more than 30 countries. — Bernama
