Over 300 activities carried out by RT groups

BAU: Neighbourh­ood Watch (RT) groups across Sarawak carried out over 300 activities from Aug 1 to Sept 16, in conjunctio­n with National Day Month.

National Unity and Integratio­n Department Sarawak director Dirwana Azool said programmes such as ‘ Sayangi Malaysiaku’ ( Love my Malaysia) was a great way of instilling love for the country and fostering closer relationsh­ip amongst all communitie­s.

A variety of stalls as well as booths for donating blood and health screenings were set up at the event, which also saw the staging of a high-powered motorcycle exhibition.

Competitio­ns were also held along with a lucky draw where 10 winners walked home with prizes.

Kuching Resident Ismail Mohamad Hanis, Bau District Officer Anielia Siam, National Unity and Integratio­n Department Kuching Division officer Abdul Rasid Mahsin, Kampung Jugan RT and JPKRT Bau and Lundu Zone chairman Ponisa Nyunyam were among those present at the closing ceremony.
