Bersatu recruiting members in Sri Aman

-

KUCHING: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) is now recruiting members in the state constituencies of Balai Ringin, Bukit Begunan and Simanggang in Sri Aman.

According to Alexander Frusis, who claims to be the leader of the recruiting team, the response from the people has been ‘extraordinary’.

He said many people turned up at their first major recruitment held at Kampung Ensebang, Balai Ringin recently.

“It was the first programme held by us for Sri Aman. At first, we wanted to have a small event, but the response was very encouraging.

“Two months ago, my team and I only moved in small groups and our programmes were closed door. But now, the situation changed and I am happy to see the encouraging response,” he said yesterday.

Alexander also said he took the opportunity to explain to the audience that Bersatu was not Umno 2.0 as mentioned by some people.

He told the audience that Bersatu is a national party which struggles for the interests of the indigenous people including Sarawak natives, and it is a component in the ruling Pakatan Harapan government.

On another matter, he said he supported Prime Minister and Bersatu chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s recent statement regarding the party spreading its wings to Sarawak.

“Our recruitment team will continue to reach out and register more members in Sri Aman,” he said.
