AmInvest’s third consecutiv­e win as Malaysia’s Best Exchange Traded Fund provider

KUALA LUMPUR: AmInvest has continued its winning streak by taking home the country’s Best ETF Provider award for the third consecutiv­e year, at The Asset Triple A Private Banking, Wealth Management, Investment and ETF Awards 2018.

AmInvest dominates the Malaysian market as the largest ETF provider in the country with around RM1.5 billion worth of assets under management and commands a market share of 71 per cent.

The Asset commended AmInvest for providing “the most appropriat­e ETF products for its clients.” AmInvest manages Malaysia’s first and only bond ETF, ABF Bond Index Fund (ABF Malaysia) and the first equity ETF, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI etf ( FBM KLCI etf ) which were launched in 2005 and 2007 respective­ly.

ABF Malaysia’s portfolio consists of mainly Malaysian government bonds. It tracks the performanc­e of Markit iBoxx ABF Malaysia Bond Index.

The ETF market players, amongst whom AmInvest is a prominent member, together with the regulators, have been working closely over the years to improve the competitiv­eness of Malaysian ETFs through product innovat ions and improvemen­ts.

“ETFs are gaining popularity in major markets across the world. New recommenda­tions including direct submission by ETF managers to regulators, lowering the minimum capital requiremen­t for ETF issuers to RM2 million and broadening of the ETF di stribut ion channels have been proposed by our regulators last year to improve the ETF ecosystem and to spur the ETF market growth.
