For this year’s programme, our approach is different. These students are now being prepared for their next year’s examinations. Maslihah Tioh, BPHB group corporate services senior manager

Maslihah in her speech emphasised on the best learning and answering techniques that the students must have to excel in their examinations.

She believed that following the programme, the students should have the idea on how they can be fully prepared for their examination next year.

“For this year’s programme, our approach is different. These students are now being prepared for their next year’s examinations.

“So there is no more reason or excuse that you are not having enough preparation. Students nowadays are very fortunate unlike our old days and with all the support and guidance, you must do the best, you have one year plus to learn, so learn, learn and learn and don’t waste your study time,” she said.

She also reminded the students not to get too carried away with the gadgets and other stuff that might affect their concentration in studying, saying technology is supposed to make life easier and not harder.

Maslihah said technology should simplify their learning process and it should not prevent them from developing their thinking abilities.

As part of Bintulu Port’s corporate social responsibility programme, she reiterated the company’s commitment to continue its close partnership with the relevant agencies to improve the standard of education, especially in producing high quality human capital for the future.

Meanwhile, Yusup said they will be closely monitoring the progress of the participating students until next year when they sit for the SPM 2019 examination.

This, he said is to ensure that the investment of Bintulu Port in education development particularly for Bintulu students would be a success.

“We at the department level, would like to thank Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad for helping us since last year, we do it properly with the high commitment of our teachers and facilitators especially in focusing on the two killer subjects, English and Mathematics.

“If we look at the state-level ranking, we are not even at the top 10, so we want to improve our performance,” said Yusup.
