He also advised IEM Sarawak to look to IEM Malaysia for professional knowledge transfer and that the branch should play an advisory role in the Sarawak development programme such as providing engineering input and future plans.

Led by IEM Sarawak chairman Haidel Heli, the purpose of the courtesy call was to thank the Sarawak government for granting the one- to- one matching grant for the proposed development of IntEC, which was announced during the institution’s annual dinner in June.

During the visit, Abang Johari was also briefed on the status of the proposed project by IntEC development head of standing committee and project director Vincent Tang Chok Khing, who is also IEM Sarawak immediate past chairman.
