KFC UTM Gurney Mall enhances dining experience of residents, students

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad recently officiated the opening of KFC Malaysia’s newlyestab­lished restaurant, KFC UTM Gurney Mall, near Residensi UTMKL at Jalan Semarak here.

According to a press release, KFC UTM Gurney Mall was built from a strategic collaborat­ion between QSR Brands ( M) Holdings Bhd – the sole operator of KFC and Pizza Hut restaurant­s in Malaysia – and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Holdings Sdn Bhd ( UTM), to enhance the commercial offerings and dining experience of residents, students and the working community around the area.

QSR Brands chairman and Johor Corporatio­n president and CEO Datuk Kamaruzzam­an Abu Kassim, who was present, highlighte­d that the commercial collaborat­ion with local public universiti­es such as UTM is an excellent strategy for QSR Brands to expand its service network to leading campuses around the country.

“This will allow QSR Brands to further strengthen its position as a market leader in the country by tapping into the institutio­ns’ resources. The opening of KFC UTM Gurney Mall marks our 22nd KFC restaurant this year, and this is in line with our goal of opening 23 outlets in total as part of KFC’s brand developmen­t strategy,” he said.

Also present during the ceremony were Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik, QSR Brands managing director Datuk Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil and UTM vice- chancellor Prof Datuk Ir Dr Wahid Omar.
