The award was presented by Somsak Borisut thanakul, honorary chairman of Plastic Industry Club of the Federation of Thai Industries, to Mohd Farid Mohamed Nor, chief executive officer of Molecor SEA, at the 3rd Asean Plastic Awards 2018 gala dinner in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 3rd Asean Plastic Awards 2018 was hosted by the Asean Federation of Plastic Industries (AFPI), and had the theme “Going Towards Sustainable Value.”

The event aims to promote innovation, improve the quality and aesthetics of plastic products, as well as raise plastic manufacturing standards.

The event was held in conjunction with the 28th Asia Plastic Forum 2018 and 17th Term AFPI Conference 2016-2018.

The 3rd Asean Plastic Awards 2018 saw more than 100 nominations of products for 9 categories ranging from houseware to medical products.

Fitters managing director Datuk Richard Wong said: “We are honoured that Molecor SEA received the Gold Award at the 3rd Asean Plastic Awards 2018, which is not only testament to the quality and superior performance of our Hypro PVC- O pipes, but also demonstrates the increasing number of satisfied users in various projects.”

Looking ahead, we strive to increase the adoption of Hypro PVC- O pipes, especially in the construction, water, and waste water sectors.

“We look forward to our pipes becoming the top choice in the industry, owing to their excellent value proposition and capabilities to support the rapidly growing infrastructure and water needs.”

Since 2015, Molecor SEA has installed over 350 kilometres of Hypro PVC-O pipes across 10 states in Malaysia, namely Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak.

Molecor SEA’s Hypro PVCO pipes have higher impact resistance and longer lifespan of up to 50 years, compared to the 30-year lifespan of conventional steel-based pipes.

Hypro PVC- O pipes are also resistant to corrosion and natural chemical substances, providing superior structural strength; and are much lighter than conventional pipes resulting in cost savings in handling as well as easier and speedier installation.
