NUMed welcomes new CEO, provost
KUCHING: Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia ( NUMed) welcomed its new CEO and Provost Professor Christopher Baldwin on Sept 1.
Baldwin, formerly head of Biomedical Sciences in Newcastle University, UK joined NUMed in 2015 as dean of Biomedical Sciences prior to his current appointment.
He has a PhD in immunoparasitology and a BSc ( Hons) in Applied Biology from North East London Polytechnic. He possesses vast research experience with special interest in immunopathology.
Baldwin is a man of vision who upholds the university’s current status as a civic institution. He also looks forward to giving back to local communities by championing research with local impact.
“I wish to develop our research so that it works for the people in Malaysia. Our research at NUMed will focus on areas that affect people’s lives in the region and come up with solutions to make things better,” he said.
“I very much look forward to working and continuing my time here as CEO and Provost, and welcoming new students to NUMed.”
