Kindy celebrates Children’s Day with fun-filled activities

-

MIRI: Miri Thai Poo Kindergarten pupils and teachers yesterday celebrated Children’s Day, which was traditionally observed on Oct 1 in Malaysia, by organising fun-filled activities at the school’s compound here yesterday.

“However in recent years, Malaysia after adopting the International Children’s Day celebration , the special day was observed on Nov 20,” said Sim Siew Fong, the kindy headmistress.

She added: “The celebration is significant as it teaches moral values that are vital to children during their formative and growing years.”

“As part of the celebration, we prepared a lot of activities for our pupils including games and short musical drama for their enjoyment. In the short drama performed by our teachers, we tried to instill human values like love, respect, being humble and others.

“We hope that through the drama, the pupils could at least learn about the values and apply them in their daily lives,” Sim said.

She also thanked the teachers who had sacrificed their time to rehearse and plan the activities for the children.

“Kindergarten level is a time where children get to enjoy learning and play at the same time. We are doing all we can to ensure that they are able to do so and seeing them enjoying themselves very much during the activities made all our hard work worth it all,” said Sim.
