‘Jakarta Plugged-In an eye-opener’

SIBU: ‘Jakarta Plugged-In 2018 Business Tour’ organised by the Ministry of Finance, and Technopren­uers Associatio­n of Malaysia (TeAM) recently, is an eye-opener for a local digital entreprene­ur, Mohammad Hisham Khairul Nasir.

Met after the business tour recently, Hisham said he was thankful to the relevant authoritie­s for selecting him to join the business tour together with two other entreprene­urs from Peninsular Malaysia.

The ‘Jakarta Plugged-In 2018 Business Tour’ delegation to Indonesia was led by president of TeAM Dato Fadzli Shah.

A Malaysian artist and avid entreprene­urship advocate, Ashraf Sinclair, who has been active in Indonesia, was also in the delegation

“The ‘Jakarta Plugged-In 2018 Business Tour’ serves as an eye-opener for me to do more and improve myself with the knowledge gained.

“It will significan­tly give me the boost that I need,” Hisham said.

He is the managing director of Solaku, a start-up entity from Sibu, that manages online booking and delivery platform known as ‘BeliBeli24’. It is currently operating in several major towns and cities in Sarawak.

The objective of the ‘Jakarta Plugged-In 2018 Business Tour’ is for the handpicked Malaysian start-ups to enhance their businesses through business opportunit­ies and knowledge exchange with their Indonesian counterpar­ts.

Hisham also said he would fully utilise and apply the knowledge and ideas gained from the business trip to help propel the nation forward Industrial Revolution 4.0.

He added that during the trip they visited Indosterli­ng Capital (strategic investment company) and Tokopedia ( largest Indonesia online marketplac­e).

“We also visited Go-Work, one of Indonesia’s leading working spaces, and other Indonesian startups,” he said.
