SMK Long Lama students visit FIC
MIRI: Thirty students from SMK Long Lama paid a familiarisation visit to Fajar International College ( FIC) here recently.
The students, led by teacher Wong King Bing, were welcomed by the college’s chief executive officer Dr Peter Tham and staff members.
The objective of the visit was to have an insight on FIC and the programmes it provides, particularly its renowned Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health ( DipOSH) programme. The students were briefed on various financial aid and assistance available, before being led for a short tour to look at the facilities in the college.
Meanwhile, FIC’s October intake is now open for enrolment. It’s Dip OSH has just recently achieved the ‘Five- Star Excellent Rating’ under the 2016/2017 MyQuest Cluster Based CategoryServices rating system, which indicates the quality of this wellknown programme.
Being the one and only Department of Occupational Safety and Health ( DOSH) Malaysia- approved college for its DipOSH, this programme is a pathway for students who intend to be a registered safety and health officer in the future.
The diploma has also secured the accreditation and official recognition from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, United Kingdom (IOSH-UK).
FIC’s Diploma in Accountancy ( DIA) programme is by far the one and only of its kind that has gained full accreditation from the Malaysia Qualifications Agency ( MQA), and approval from the Ministry of Higher Education ( MOHE); thus making it one of the most sought-after accounting qualification locally.
This one of its kind programme is uniquely designed as students can obtain two different qualifications or academic awards upon completion of the diploma – in other words, the DIA from FIC and at the same time, they are qualified to sit for the Certified Accounting Technician ( CAT) from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK.
FIC’s other programmes include Diploma in Business Studies, Certificate in Business Studies and Diploma in Human Resources Management.
