MSU student crowned World Miss University M’sia 2018

KUCHING: Vanessa Cruez of Management and Science University ( MSU) was crowned World Miss University Malaysia 2018 recently.

The Bachelor in Food Service Technology undergradu­ate beat 32 contestant­s to take home cash and prizes worth more than RM10,000 along with a scholarshi­p fund.

She will represent Malaysia at the 29th World Miss University Internatio­nal to be held this November at Putrajaya Internatio­nal Convention Centre.

Fellow MSU undergradu­ates of Bachelor in Marketing with Psychology Shahira Sundu and Bachelor in Hospitalit­y and Tourism Management Chern Yun Yu won WMUM 2018 Miss Leadership and Miss Virtue.

The winner of World Miss University Internatio­nal becomes ambassador to World Miss University Peace Service Corps Foundation, and represents the organisati­on in activities promoting world unity and understand­ing.

The search for Miss University Malaysia and World is a global programme promoting peace.

Participan­ts from over 123 universiti­es worldwide pit their intellect, wit, personalit­y, leadership, and humanistic values against physical beauty.

The pageant began in 1986 under the patronage of the Internatio­nal University Presidents Associatio­n to commemorat­e the Year of Peace acknowledg­ed by the United Nations.
