The mass rabies vaccination programme is organised by Miri Disaster Management Committee headed by Miri Resident Sherina Hussaini.

“The programme is part of the efforts taken to control the spread of rabies in Miri,” said the committee in a statement yesterday.

Dog owners who have yet to vaccinate their canines against rabies should take full advantage of the free mass rabies vaccination programme.

They are advised to bring along their identify cards and the healthy dogs for vaccination.

The free mass rabies vaccination programme is held following rabies outbreak in Miri which is currently only affecting dogs with no human cases reported so far.
