Sacofa expects 2,000 entries for its 2019 community run

KUCHING: Sacofa Sdn Bhd is organising a community run set for Jan 6 next year, with the flag- off to take place at the old Sarawak Legislativ­e Assembly ( DUN) complex here.

The ‘Connecting With the Community Run 2019’, which will offer cash prizes totalling RM3,200, will consist of three categories – the 3km fun run, 5km and 10km. Moreover, food trucks and car boot sales will also be set up at the event

According to the organiser, the community run expects to gather over 2,000 participan­ts from the public and private sectors.

run, held at Sacofa headquarte­rs in Wisma Zecon at Jalan Satok here yesterday.

He added that Sacofa decided to utilise its technical expertise to contribute back to society such as providing free WiFi services to the rural communitie­s through the ‘Sacofa4u’ project.

For the ‘Connecting With the Community Run 2019’, every registered participan­t would be entitled to free goodies such as a micro- dry fabric race T- shirt, runner’s bib, finisher’s medal, drawstring bag, towel and USB thumb- drive.

The top 10 men and women’s runners of the 10km category would stand to receive cash prizes worth up to RM3,200

Online registrati­on fees ( per participan­t) are RM50 for the 10km run, RM45 for the 5km run, and RM40 for the 3km fun run.

Registrati­on is open until 11: 59pm on Dec 6 this year. Those interested can sign up online via www.gritevent.com/sacofarun, or head to Brooks ( Revolution Run) at Green Heights Mall here to register.
