InvestSmar­t 2018: Free financial talk services for Malaysians

KUALA LUMPUR: The tremendous changing in the financial environmen­t, has brought the Securities Commission (SC) to organise the InvestSmar­t Fest 2018 which is the annual flagship investor education for the Public.

This event is the three day event, start from October 12 to 14, 2018 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Exhibition Hall 2 which help Malaysians to have a better education in financial planning.

This event was officiated by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.

This three day event showcase products and services offered in the capital markets including shares, unit trusts, private retirement schemes and others. Members of the public may directly engage with SC, the intermedia­ries, other government agencies and relevant associatio­ns to learn more about the opportunit­ies of investing in the capital market.

According to Michael Kok Fook On, President of Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC), said, “This event is very helpful to empower Malaysians with basic financial planning knowledge, aiding them to achieve financial and emotional well-being well at all their life stages. The public are highly encouraged to grab this opportunit­y to attending personal financial advisory sessions provided by licensed financial planners.

“Many of our Registered Financial Planners (RFP) are participat­ing in “#FinPlan4u” at the InvestSmar­t Fest 2018; a financial planning service desk, “#Finplan4u” which enables visitors to obtain compliment­ary initial assessment of their financial status and learn to better manage their savings and investment. We certainly hope to contribute actively in elevating financial literacy of the nation. Our RFP is the first Malaysian programme designed to be adopted as a common benchmark qualificat­ion in the Malaysian financial planning industry, signifying the twin pillars of profession­alism in financial planning such as Profession­al Education and Practice Excellence.”

With the themed “Investing for a Sustainabl­e Future”, the event will also feature talks by prominent speakers from the industry; and visitors may stand a chance to win exciting lucky draw prizes for participat­ing in the event. — Bernama
