A showcase of Cyberjaya: Stepping into the capital of creation

KUCHING: Cyberjaya 360 Showcase 2018, organised by Cyberview Sdn Bhd, the Tech Hub Enabler, showcases a 360-view of Cyberjaya as a model Smart City with a framework that cuts across all areas crucial to high quality city living: economy, infrastruc­ture, social and environmen­t.

It also showcases Cyberjaya’s offerings as a collaborat­ive innovation ecosystem designed to empower and support enterprise­s at every stage of maturity.

The showcase will be held from October 17 to 20, 2018 at NU Sentral, B-LG (fronting Guardian), from 10am till 10pm. Members of the public are welcomed to participat­e in stage activities organised from 12.30pm to 2pm and from 5.30pm to 7pm.

Exhibition- goers can look forward to experienci­ng interactiv­e booths which include visual demonstrat­ions of Cyberjaya’s Smart City and Living Labs projects, interactio­ns with the latest drone and urban technologi­es, mascot appearance, animation clip screenings, merchandis­e sales among others. The showcase also features daily talk sessions by notable speakers like Nizam Razak, animation creator of Boboboi, Nadhir Ashafiq from TheLorry. com, a home-grown transporta­tion service app as well as speakers from local tech startups and educators, moderated by television host, Daphne Iking. Participan­ts can also take part in quizzes and games and stand a chance to win prizes.

More than 20 years since its inception, Cyberjaya as a model smart city and an emerging global technology hub continues to be a critical contributo­r to the digital economy through the developmen­t and growth of innovation­s. With early technology adopters making up 20 per cent of Cyberjaya’s total population, it houses approximat­ely 40,000 knowledge workers and 50 multinatio­nal corporatio­ns, that brought in RM13.24 billion in revenue last year.

Home to great ideas and thriving innovation, Cyberjaya, the Capital of Creation, is offered to bright minds as a test bed for piloting, refining and developing purpose- driven innovation. Since its inception in 2013, Cyberjaya’s own Cyberview Living Lab Accelerato­r (CLLA) programme has nurtured 60 startups, with more than RM22 million investment­s raised, RM23 million revenue generated, and more than 300 jobs created.

Mohd Najib Ibrahim, the managing Director of Cyberview Sdn Bhd said, “Our progress is made possible in the spirit of collaborat­ion with our stakeholde­rs and strategic partners. This is not only confined to Cyberjaya, but also with other tech hubs around the world.”
