Delegates fascinated by unity, diversity in Kuching City

KUCHING: Delegates of the 8th Alliance for Healthy Cities (AFHC) Global Conference and General Assembly 2018 are impressed by the unity and diversity here.

Head of the Secretaria­t of the Alliance for Healthy Cities Dr Keiko Nakamura said the diversity of culture and unity in the city are a very important part of a healthy city.

“The delegates are here (in Kuching) not only to attend the quality technical programme, but we really appreciate the diversity of culture, entertainm­ents and hospitalit­y, which are very important part of a healthy city movement,” she said at a welcoming dinner for the delegates at a leading hotel here on Wednesday.

She also said the delegates had visited various places of interest in the city to share their experience, and also learned many things.

Present at the dinner were Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani and World Health Organisati­on ( WHO) Western Pacific Region regional director Dr Shin Young-soo.

The delegates were also entertaine­d with a cultural show and presentati­on of ‘ Rentap, the Untold Story’ by Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV).
