Grab launches first driver centre in Kuching

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Grab, online ride-hailing service provider in Southeast Asia, has launched its first driver centre in Kuching, Sarawak in conjunction with its first anniversary in this East Malaysian city.

Grab Malaysia’s head of outer cities Justin Tiew said the new Grab Driver Centre (GDC) would serve as a one-stop support centre to cater to the needs and welfare of current and potential driverpartners.

“Our driver-partners, be they GrabCar or GrabTaxi drivers, play a critical role in helping us serve our users here in Kuching and the neighbouring cities, and we are committed to improving their welfare by ensuring our platform is even more sustainable and rewarding.

“The new GDC here is a testament to that and puts their needs and welfare as our driver-partners at the forefront of our business,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The new driver centre represents Grab’s aim for a better driverpartner experience, providing the necessary training for a seamless journey benefiting both drivers and passengers.

Among the services facilitated at the GDC are managing the daily queries by both current and potential drivers; managing new driver registration, mandatory in-person verification; as well as conducting mandatory driver training and re-education sessions for all drivers.

Grab currently has five GDCs in Malaysia including the newly launched in Kuching. More information is available at www. grab.com. — Bernama
