Grab offbeat goodies at mall’s Halloween-themed flea market this weekend
KUCHING: Celebrate Halloween at Green Heights Mall this weekend, which will host its famous ‘Weekend Flea Market’ where one can shop for offbeat goodies at stalls decorated in Halloween theme.
A collaboration with What About Kuching ( WAK) 2018, the ‘Halloween Flea’ features curator Snackfood from Kuala Lumpur – known as a ‘collector of happy things’. This is the first pop-up for the hugely popular store, a cult favourite of hipsters and art collectors in the know.
Other popular designers such as ROA SKYE, headed by Somaliborn British expatriate Najah Munye, will also be at the flea market – ready to custom bespoke African-print outfits. Colourful, modern and eye- catching pieces, ROA SKYE is fast becoming staples for any wardrobe, and is popular for ‘ mummy- and-me’ matching outfits.
Look out for crowd flea market favourites A-Z Succulents, MNJ Beads, Paper Tinker, Frida Collections, Soulistic Garden, Handmade by Mimi Bong, Bella Donna, Tupperware and many more.
Cloud 99 ice cream food truck, Home Backyard 15 BBQ, Raw Kitchen and After Lunch Macarons will also be at the market.
The flea market will host over 20 vendors and promises to be a fun shopping experience for the whole family.
Shoppers are in for a visual feast as there is a prize for ‘Best Decorated Flea Market Stall’. Expect live music, in- store promotions and an exciting Halloween menu at Wonderboom.
Sarawak Eco Warriors will be running a free eco- craft session for children this Saturday (Oct 27) on the mall’s first floor, from 10am to noon.
On the same day, there will be ‘ Halloween Zumba’ running from 6pm till 7.15pm, led by two Zumba instructors from Yogini Republic.
There will also be a ‘Halloween Costume Contest’, where the participation fee is RM10 per person and forms can be obtained at the mall’s carpark validation counter on the ground floor.
Prizes include a RM500-shopping voucher for the ‘ Best Dressed’ participant, while various goodies are up for grabs those placing second and third.
Sponsors include Lowmax Global, Hair Do, Cold Storage, Samba, JP Mart, Sunshine Nail & Beauty, and Fun Hut.
Participants will also be treated to free candy.
