MOC to hold mini concert
MIRI: Miri Orchestra and Choir (MOC) will hold its mini concert on Oct 27 at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak here from 7.30pm.
Themed ‘ Melodies We Remember’, the concert will feature classical and jazz ethnic music among others.
Founded by Siwen Wong in 1998, the non-profit organisation under the patronage of Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan, Dr Loh Yunn Hua and Dr Abdul Aziz Abdullah focuses on promoting music and raising the standard of music among its members and the community.
Throughout the years, MOC has raised funds for charitable organisations such as Palliative Care Association of Miri, Miri PDK Sunflower Centre, Miri Home for the Aged and government-aided primary schools in Miri.
“MOC provides a platform to discover and develop hidden musical talents.
“With the support of our team members, it is hoped that more talented people could come and join MOC.
“There is no age limit when it comes to music as long as there is passion and commitment for the choir or orchestra,” said current president Nicholas Chin in a statement yesterday.
Tickets for the mini concert are for sale at RM20 and RM35 with designated seating, on a first come fi rst serve basis.
