Malindo Air touches down in Kolkata, India

PETALING JAYA: Malindo Air OD281 has started its new services between Kuala Lumpur International Airport ( KLIA) and Kolkata, departing from KLIA at 9.55pm on Monday.

The inaugural flight, with 162 passengers on board, was sent off by High Commissioner of India in Malaysia, Shri Mridul Kumar and Malindo Air’s chief executive officer Chandran Rama Muthy at KLIA.

The 3 hour and 55 minutes flight arrived at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport at 11.20pm. Upon arrival, a cake cutting ceremony was held in the airport to celebrate the inaugural flight.

The 5 weekly flight is operated with a narrow- body Boeing 737 aircraft, comprising of 12 Business Class and 150/168 Economy Class seats. The returning flight from Kolkata OD282 is scheduled to depart at 12.10am and arrive in KLIA at 6.35am. Chandran Rama Muthy, CEO of Malindo Air said, “With the addition of Kolkata, we have expanded our outreach in the region of India, servicing 72 flights weekly including our code share flights with Batik Air to Chennai.
