KUAL A LUMPU R: The government hopes to table the political financing act within this term to keep in check the political financing activities in the country, said Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mohamed Hanipa Maidin.

However, he said, no timeframe could be given as to when the legislation would be enacted.

“Ultimately we must get the nod from the Prime Minister. Since Tun has agreed in principle, I don’t think there will be a problem,” he said at the Anti- Corruption Summit 2018 here yesterday.

He added that the political financing act was still in the queue
