IEM Sarawak branch to hold engineers run

KUCHING: The Institute of Engineers Malaysia ( IEM), Sarawak branch will have the 4th edition of the IEM Engineer 39’s Run 2018 themed ‘Bonding With Chemistry’ on Nov 4 at the MBKS building in Jalan Padungan here.

The run organised by the Young Engineers Section (YES)will start at 5am with the first flagoff for the half marathon ( 21km) category, a press statement from the organiser said yesterday.

The run will be divided into 21km (men and women open), 10km (men and women open), 10km corporate category (men and women) and 5km Fun Run.

Participan­ts who fi nish the run within the cut- off time (4 hours for the 21km, 2.5 hours for 10km and 1.5 hours for 5km) will receive fi nisher medals besides other prizes.

Finisher tees will be exclusivel­y given to only the half marathon who fi nish within the cut- off time as stated.

All participan­ts will have the chance to win exclusive lucky draws during the closing and prize-giving ceremonies, which are expected to be attended by Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian and MBKS Mayor Datuk James Chan Khay Syn.

Meanwhile, IEM Sarawak branch thanked the run partners and sponsors namely MBKS for the venue and The Gym Box (official gym partner), official isotonic and water partners ( Revive and Aquabalans), and main event sponsors Sarawak Energy Berhad, Cahaya Mata Sarawak Berhad, Bluescope Lysaght, Konsortium Bumi Consultant & Services Sdn Bhd, and Hock Seng Lee Berhad.

It also thanked Kuching Happy Runners Club, Revolution Run Co and eventRunne­r for supporting the run.
