UoRM programme receives full accreditation from PAQs
ISKANDAR PUTERI: The University of Reading Malaysia ( UoRM) announced that BSc Quantity Surveying bachelor’s degree programme has successfully received five-Year full accreditation by the Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors ( PAQS).
The School of Built Environment, UoRM has hosted a 4-member PAQS accreditation panel by PAQS at UoRM, EduCity, Iskandar Puteri, Johor campus on 10 October 2018.
The international accreditation panel was led Raymond Kam from the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors; Chuah Siow Leng from PAQS Malaysia; Ahmad Shuhaimi from the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia and Goh Ngan Hong from the Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers.
“We are proud to say that our BSc Quantity Surveyors programme is the only triple accredited bachelor’s degree programme in Malaysia by international professional bodies which is the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors ( RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building ( CIOB) and the PAQS,” said Dr Mohd Faris Khamidi, head of Built Environment, UoRM.
“BSc Quantity Surveying offers a great combination of academic excellence and practical expertise. This programme is rated 5th in the UK and 43rd overall for Architecture/Built Environment in the QS World Rankings 2018 by subject.
“We at UoRM ensure that all our students will receive the best education with global approach at our campus in EduCity, Iskandar Puteri, Johor.”
The panels pleased to note that all the concerns raised during the provisional accreditation visit last June 2017 were appropriately addressed and actioned on.
The panels was impressed on UoRM’s dual-campuses (Malaysia and UK) Quality Assurance model in particular the Quality Monitoring and Enhancement ( QME) 1- 4 model that works splendidly.
The accreditation means that all UoRM’s BSc Quantity Surveying graduates are now recognized in eight countries, which is Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Brunei where our graduates and work, practice and become a chartered surveyors.
