SMK Tebedu hosts Serian Division STEM carnival
TEBEDU: SMK Tebedu, a secondary school located near the border with Indonesia, hosted a two- day Serian Division-level Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) carnival from Oct 31 to Nov 1.
Education, Science and Technological Research Minister Dato Sri Michael Manyin, who officiated at the closing ceremony on Wednesday, said STEM is now vital since Malaysia needs to leapfrog to Industrial Revolution 4.0 from the present IR2.0

emphasising STEM and English Language so that the younger generation are ready to take on the jobs and opportunities under IR4.0.
He also said the ministry and Department of Education are working together to conduct Training of Trainers, to train teachers to be more effective in the teaching and learning of STEM.

Manyin also presented prizes to winners of the various competitions held during the carnival. Also present were acting Tebedu district officer Joseph Liaw and Serian education officer Milon Sayeng.
