Kemas aims for quality education of pre-schoolers

S I BU : T he C ommu n i t y Developmen­t Department (Kemas) urges parents to continue sending their pre- school chi ldren to its kindergart­ens in order to prepare them for their primary education.

State director of Kemas Mohd Zamri Mustajap said Kemas plans to upgrade the quality of education among its pre-schoolers.

Among the initiative­s being undertaken is targetting all its kindergart­en teachers to be at least a diploma holder by the year 2020, he saidwhenof­ficiatinga­ttheprize-day of Kemas kindergart­ens in Lanang parliament­ary constituen­cy at a hotel here yesterday.

“Besides, from the aspect of cocurricul­um, we continue to place priority on the teaching of English language at pre-school level.

“We wil l send teachers for intensive courses so that they could educate the children more effectivel­y,” he said,adding Kemas is also emphasisin­g aspects of science and technology.

“In Kemas, our teachers are not only involved in teaching but overall education towards multi skill and outside activities.

Also present at the function were Sibu Division Kemas officer Napsiah Suhai li and senior supervisor of Kemas Lanang parliament­ary constituen­cy Bangi Mujap.

A total of 315 pre- schoolers from 34 kindergart­ens received certificat­es and prizes.
