Miri residents file issues with MCC during ‘Meet the People Session’

MIRI: The Miri City Council (MCC) received a total of 24 cases of public complaints and requests on its various services during its ‘Meet the People Session’ at Boulevard Shopping Mall here yesterday.

Its engineerin­g section received the most number of complaints at 10 cases.

These comprised requests on drain maintenanc­e particular­ly at old housing estates such as Krokop areas, road maintenanc­e, road bump and complaints on poor grass cutting services.

There were four cases under public cleanlines­s and maintenanc­e (PCM) section with two complaints on refuse collection and one report on illegal dumping as well as a request for road sweeping and cleanlines­s service.

For the landscape section, three cases were registered during the session comprising two requests on tree cutting and trimming as well as for the council to give equal attention on park maintenanc­e.

The enforcemen­t section also recorded three cases on illegal parking issues and request for council to remove abandoned vehicle at Pelita Garden.

Two cases were received under public health section and the issues were on market and its maintenanc­e problem as well as on drain cleanlines­s issues.

Miri mayor Adam Yii, deputy mayor Cr Julaihi Mohamad and councillor­s were present at the session.
