Mercedes-Benz Malaysia unveils new Mercedes-Benz C-Class

KUCHING: Mercedes- Benz Malaysia’s product of fensive continues with the introducti­on of the new Mercedes- Benz CClass.

The Mercedes-Benz C- Class has been the most successful model series and now, in its fifth year of production, it boasts a wealth of enhancemen­t. The new C- Class features the latest MercedesBe­nz driving assistance systems offering the driver cooperativ­e support, and therefore provides a higher level of active safety than its predecesso­r. The new C- Class family is also being launched with new engines, including the new generation of four- cylinder engines.

Equipped in Avantga rde Line, the Mercedes- Benz C 2 0 0 is powered by the new 1.5- litres four- cylinder petrol engine with a powerful starter/ alternator combinatio­n of 48 volt, introduced as EQ Boost contributi­ng an additional 10 kW ( 13 hp) that is unique in this segment, for sporty driving pleasure with high efficiency. The Mercedes- Benz C 300 and Mercedes- AMG C 43, on the other hand, is equipped with the Multibeam LED headlights system that provides optimum visibility in all conditions.

The V6 biturbo engine of the Mercedes- AMG C 43 4Matic excels with a powerful output together with low consumptio­n and emi s sions . I n s t a l led close to the engine, the two turbocharg­ers are especially spontaneou­s in their response. For the new C- Class, the AMG developmen­t engineers have increased the output of the 3.0litre V6 engine by 17 kW ( 23 hp) to 287 kW ( 390 hp). The peak torque of 520 Nm is available from 2500 to 5000 rpm.

With the new enhancemen­t, the C 200 now comes with an athletic character with new levels of sophistica­tion. Enhanced with the Avantgarde exterior features as a dynamic front bumper with central trim element in highsheen chrome and air inlets with diamond- pattern mesh in grained black. With the twin pipe exhaust system in highgloss chrome at the rear bumper sharpen the sporty appearance of the vehicle.

In terms of interior, the new generation C- Class features high- qual ity materials and the excel lent integratio­n of funct ional elements with a 12.3- inch digital cockpit - a cutting- edge screen design that offers three different display styles; ‘ Classic’, ‘ Sport’ and ‘ Progressiv­e’.

The styles can be switched quickly according to personal tastes or to suit the selected interior. The new high-resolution 10.25-inch media display can be operated with two touch control buttons on the sporty steering wheel . The touch- sensitive control also responds to swiping motions just like the screen of a smartphone. It enables the driver to control the functions of the instrument cluster and the entire infotainme­nt system without having to take their hands off the steering wheel.

The new generation C- Class c ome s wit h Sma r t phone integratio­n links the mobile phone with the media system via Apple ® CarPlay ® and Android Auto ®. This gives you convenient access to the most important applicatio­ns of your smartphone. The new generation C- Class also comes with KeylessGo which enables access and drive authorisat­ion even if the key remains in your pocket. All the doors can be unlocked and locked simply by touching the door handle.
