Decision must be made on PKR Julau case, says Zuraida

SIBU: MinisterofHousingandLocal Government Zuraida Kamaruddin is hoping that the leaders of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) would look into the PKR Julau case so that a decision could be made.

She is referring to the case where PKR Julau registered a sudden spike in its membership, from only 603 on June 26 this year to 13,000 a day later.

The PKR is currently conducting polls nationwide.

Zuraida, who is also the incumbent national PKR Women chief, believed that the matter warrants a decision.

“Have courage to make decision on that. As far as I am concerned, the evidence shows it very clearly. If they (PKR leadership) don’t want to make such decision, if they want to carry on with the election – of course, we are more than prepared to look into it,” she told reporters here yesterday, in response to a question about whether or not those from Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali’s camp would send someone to monitor the election process in Julau.

Azmin and Rafizi Ramli are in the race for the post of PKR deputy president.

Adding on, Zuraida said she saw no indication of the election in Julau to be postponed.

“As of now, I have not received information on any postponement. So, if there is no information, (it is) on.

B ack on PKR Julau case, she said it had been brought up at PKR Central level several times, but there seemed to be no clear decision.

“So, I hope there is another meeting next (this) week where we can discuss again. For the good of the party, a fair decision needs to be made,” she said.
