Farmer makes police report over name in PKR membership list

-

KUCHING: A farmer from Pakan lodged a police report in Sarikei recently after finding out that his name and 10 others were listed in PKR Julau membership list without their knowledge and consent.

Uchau Mangka, 52, from Nanga Dendang, Pakan claimed that he was notified by a friend via WhatsApp message around 2pm on Oct 31 in Pakan that his name and 10 others were included in PKR Julau membership list.

“We, namely myself Uchau Mangka, Ester Jana, Kembu Engkasan, Janai Ganti, Jundan Chambang, Douglas Satap Selanjat, Jepurah Kasi, Saran Digat, Meru Kasi, Densun Mamut and Luat Abong have never given permission that our name and identification card number be included in the membership list of PKR Julau branch,” he said.

Uchau lodged the police report at 3pm last Friday at the Sarikei Police Station. Meanwhile, Julau MP Larry Sng said a PKR member has lodged a police report against allegations of irregularities in the Julau PKR membership roll.

He said the police report was based on a viral list of 27 names of individuals purportedly from Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak ( Teras), who were allegedly registered as PKR members without their prior knowledge.

The report also claimed that the statutory declaration by Sarawak PKR information chief Vernon Albert Kedit included signatures supposedly from the individuals but which did not match their actual signatures.

Complaints were also lodged with Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission ( MACC), prompting the authority to detain and investigate PKR staff over the PKR Julau bogus members’ allegation. Sng has volunteered to show up at MACC office in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 13 to clear his name, and assist in the MACC investigation.
