PTA: School hall, platform for education-based competitions
SIBU: SMK Agama here will have added facilities with the completion of the school hall soon.
The school’s Parent Teacher Association ( PTA) chairman Mohd Safree Mohd Kassim said the new facility can strengthen the teaching-learning process, where various education- based competitions can be organised to benefit the students.
“With the hall, various educational activities can be carried out to benefit students’ learning and enhance their academic performance. School assembly can also be held there in comfort,” he said when contacted yesterday.
Mohd Safree added that the public can also make use of the facility for weddings and sport activities, adding that this is one of the sources of income for PTA. He was asked to comment on Assistant Minister of Technological Research and Education Dr Annuar Rapaee’s announcement that the state government had approved an allocation of RM910,000 for SMK Agama Sibu’s hall construction project.
Speaking at the school’s presentation of excellence award 2018 ceremony here Saturday, Dr Annuar said Chief Minister ( Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg) had approved the amount which has been credited into the school’s PTA ( parentteacher association) bank account for the building of a new hall at the school. construct the hall is expected to be tendered by year- end.
According to Dr Annuar, the school and its PTA had waited a long time to get the project off the ground. Once completed, the hall could accommodate all the students during assembly and also has three badminton courts, he said.
