Enforcement teams monitor prices of controlled goods
BINTULU: Enforcement teams from the Bintulu office of Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs ( KPDNHEP) are diligently monitoring the prices of controlled goods under the ongoing ‘ Deepavali Festive Season Price Control Scheme’, which is effective until Nov 9.
According to KPDNHEP Bintulu chief Salihin Den, so far there has been no violation at the premises inspected but the enforcement teams will continue monitoring the prices of goods closely.
He was met after an inspection on a new supermarket in the town’s centre yesterday.
“Overall from our inspection today ( yesterday), we find that this supermarket is offering goods at reasonable prices, with some at prices below the ceiling priceset.
“This is our continuous effort to protect the consumers from any profiteering activity by unethical traders during this festive season,” he said The enforcement teams, said Salihin, are also be working together with the ‘ Friends of KPDNHEP’ and ‘Skuad Pengguna’ (Consumers Squad) to assist the ministry in monitoring activities and providing feedback.
