Pustaka Miri to hold digital outreach programme in Baram

MIRI: Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Miri ( Pustaka Miri) will hold a digital outreach programme at two villages in Baram from Nov 14 to 17.

The event will be at Kampung Long Ikang (Nov 14) and Kampung Long Banyok (Nov 17) from 9am to 4pm at both locations.

A Pustaka Miri press release said yesterday the programme aimed to increase awareness of services and facilities offered by Pustaka Miri among the participan­ts.

“Through the programme, we hope to provide sufficient exposure on informatio­n relating to literacy skills and digital knowledge namely cthe PANDEi workshop ( People Accessible, Network, for Digital Empowermen­t and Inclusivit­y).

“It is also hoped that the awareness level among the participan­ts towards the importance of knowledge culture and lifelong learning could be increased,” the press release added.

Among the activities planned are the introducti­on of Sarawak State Library and basic skills, Informatio­n Literacy and Digital Inclusivit­y, quiz and questionna­ire session, Fun Tech and ‘Mbot Challenges’ and movie session.

During the programme, the community in Long Banyok and Long Ikang will be registered as lifetime members of the Sarawak State Library for free.
