SIBU: The organising committee of Sibu International BASE Jump 2019 will hold more events on the sidelines in efforts to attract more visitors especially those from neighbouring towns.

The decision to have more events was made during a meeting recently which was chaired by Sibu Resident Charles Siaw.

Speaking during a `Thank you dinner’ here for organisers and those who had helped at this year’s BASE Jump event on Thursday, he said a talent show and night run are two of the events proposed.

“We’re also exploring the possibility of rolling out joint promotion for our BASE Jump and the KL Tower Jump.

“We plan to do it like a circuit, meaning the jumpers shall jump in Kuching, Sibu then rounding up in Kuala Lumpur,” Siaw added.

He believed next year’s jump can be made bigger and better with the solid support of all the sporting sponsors and strategic partners.

This year’s jump held in September saw 34 jumpers from 14 countries namely the United States, United Kingdom, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, Estonia, Ireland, New Zealand, Russia, Finland, France, Germany, Australia and Malaysia.

The dinner was enlivened by a live band performance by the `Tribal Tone’ Band.

Also present were sponsors Dato Wong Tiing Kiong, Lucas Lau from F1 Live Band & Lights Sdn Bhd, Teng Hong Marketing Sdn Bhd director Vivien Tan and the Malaysia BASE Association president Captain A. Aziz Ahmad.
