180 pupils take part in Jalil Ramli football clinic

MIRI: The Football Clinic With Jalil Ramli Programme was held at SK Niah last Saturday.

The football clinic was jointly organised by Subis District Headmaster­s Council and Miri Football Associatio­n.

It was participat­ed by about 180 participan­ts from 22 primary schools in Niah, Suai.

The clinic which was held from 7.30am until 12.30pm went smoothly and the children were very excited to learn and gain knowledge from Sarawak football legend Jalil Ramli

Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni praised the orgainsers for their initiative in promoting football among young players when he of f iciating at the closing of the programme at the school.

“We hope programme like this will be continued and extended to other areas as it can be used to scout, sharpen and polish talents of football among young players,” he said.

Lu k a n i sma n s a i d t h at Sibuti constituen­cy is huge and there are many primary schools that could be exposed to footbal l through similar programmes.

“For example in Lambir, there are many primary schools that have talented young players and we hope their talent could be discovered through sport clinics like this,” he said.

Lukanisman said that he will also continue to support the clinic and hope to see similar programmes in the future.
