Ex-SMK Taee students to hold reunion dinner next month
SERIAN: A group of former students of SMK Taee will host a reunion gathering at Bale Gambang Kampung Taee (Kampung Taee village community hall) here this Dec 21.
According to the reunion committee secretary Attin Rimpa, the gathering was initiated by a group of former students from the 1987–1989 batch, who believed that it was high time for them to organise and hold this reunion dinner after having left their alma mater for over 30 years.
“The reunion dinner should be the best avenue for all former SMK Taee students to catch up with one another and rejuvenate their friendships after more than 30 years of lost contact,” said Attin, adding that several former teachers had also confirmed their attendance for the gathering.
She said apart from singing, there would also be lucky draws and photo-taking sessions during the inaugural reunion dinner.
“We expect to host around 600 former (SMK Taee) students and teachers,” said Attin, adding that the event’s theme would be ‘ Red and White Party’.
Heading the reunion committee is Alambuana Aus as the chairman, assisted by Attin, treasurer Helen Ritty and assistant treasurer Achang Lee.
The committee members are Rovina Suet, Josephine Lincham, Elsie Kasir, Annie Jaon, Lovina Collin, Acha Jungka, Cosmas Mambai, Vivian Manchang Daniel Krusak, Lisie Lijuh, Joanie Naeng, Tony Christy, Winiewaty Blisi, Thompson Ekol, Irene @ Oeren Nyabor, Tomis Sari, Kemin Rentap, Lousiana Lorentis, Malik Manap, Tony Valerie Abel, Georgina Aju and Adison Naeng Achen.
For former students and teachers who are interested to attend the reunion dinner, tickets are still available at RM40 per person.
