Aziz, Eva claim KGS Captain’s, Lady Captain’s trophies

KUCHING: Abdul Aziz Sahari, Khairil Azmi Mohamad Hasbie and Eva Puyang Deng were crowned the champions at the KGS Captain’s Trophy, Deputy Captain’s Trophy and the Lady Captain’s Trophy at Kelab Golf Sarawak last Sunday.

Aziz, who played with a six handicap, fired a gross 81 to finish two strokes ahead of Johari Aman while Abu Bakar Kiprawi was third two strokes further back.

Mohamad Ashar i pipped Samsudin Molok, Sophian Lokman and Mohamad Lokman Mustaffa to fourth place on count back (OCB) after the trio returned similar score of 86.

Harold Tok Kwan Hang (87 OCB), Habib Mushthofa Abu Bakar (87) and Abang Maludin Abang Oreen ( 88) finished in eighth to 10th positions respective­ly.

Nett champion was Wan Hashim Tuanku Johan who carded a 71 followed by Osman @ Seman Saadiah (72), Peter Sawal (74 OCB), Teo Sio Song (74) and Mohd Nasir Husain (75).

Azmi lifted the Deputy Captain’s Trophy with 70 strokes while Norman Yusuf bagged the gross title with a 94.

Meanwhile, Eva returned the day’s score of 85 to carry of the Lady’s Captain Trophy gross event.

Lia Rajemah Sharmanie was second on 88 beating Asha Nabeela Abdul Rahman on count back as Kim Mi Kyeong and Christina Constance Foo finished fourth and fifth with 94 and 95 respective­ly.

Winner of the Lady Captain’s Trophy nett category was Kinsella Tan who carded a 64 followed by Ashley Yii Ro Wen ( 70) and Christina Teo Kui Lan (74).
