RM50,000 school aid brings relief to Lembah Pantai residents

-

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Federal Territories yesterday presented school aid totalling RM50,000 to 300 students from selected national primary schools in Lembah Pantai.

Its minister Khalid Abdul Samad said the aid was to provide relief and ease the burden of the poor in the area.

“It is indeed a dilemma for many urban and rural residents when a new school session begins, so we hope this contribution will help parents with preparations for their children’s schooling,” he said at the Back-to- School Carnival programme here yesterday.

In his speech, the Shah Alam MP said it was good news for Malaysia when it was announced that Malaysia has remained on top of the emerging markets list, six months after Pakatan Harapan took over the administration of the country.

He said according to Bloomberg analysis, Malaysia’s economic growth was high and ahead of Russia, China, Thailand, the Philippines and South Korea.

“Within six months of governing the country, we are able to overcome many important issues such as misappropriation of funds and abuse of power, “he said.

Commenting on the issue over enforcing 1am closing time for entertainment outlets in the city beginning next year, Khalid said this would depend on the licence or permit that had been granted to the proprietors and they should abide by the stipulated closing time. — Bernama
