Charity without Borders embarks on 6th outing

SIBU: The sixth edition of the ‘Charity without Borders’ project jointly organised by Hope Place Kuching and Kelab Cabaran Pacuan 4 Roda Bintulu is set to go.

It will be hosted by Bintulu 4x4 club with Kelab Pemilik 4x4 Sibu joining as a partner.

The project, which focuses on needy hinterland villagers, will move to a longhouse in Batu Keling in Belaga this year.

Volunteers and participan­ts will meet in Sibu on Dec 6 before travelling to the upper reaches of the Rejang.

The 290 registered volunteers will move in 113 units of 4x4 vehicles.

They will bring their own food items and utensils to cook along the way.

Rice, cooking oil, biscuits, instant noodles, milk powder, salt, sugar, Milo, school stationeri­es, blankets, mattresses, mosquito nettings and clothes are among the items they are distributi­ng.

They will also give out study tables for rural students while Australian donors are handing out solar lights which will be installed by the Hope Place team and volunteers.

Brunei Wanfu group will sponsor Milo, milk powder, mattresses and mosquito nets costing over RM10,000.

Hope Place in Sarawak delivers aid to needy families every three months.

They also provide assistance for targeted groups such as the handicap and children of single mothers.

Currently, they are supporting more than 180 families.

The helpline for needy families is 0135672775 or 082- 505987 from 8.30am - 12pm and 2pm- 5pm from Monday to Friday and on Saturday, from 9am to 12pm.
