KUALA LUMPUR: Commercial Crime Investigation Department ( CCID) has been instructed to investigate two police reports lodged by Lembaga Tabung Haji ( TH) on Nov 30, according to Inspector- General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun.

“I have instructed the CCID to probe into the matter and investigations are in progress,” he told reporters after the UniKop College convocation ceremony at Maktab PDRM here yesterday.

On Nov 30, Tabung Haji lodged two police reports against former chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, former chief executive officer, Tan Sri Ismee Ismail and Datuk Seri Johan Abdullah as well as four other senior management personnel.

It said the report lodged was based on the result of the first internal investigation over past transactions, spearheaded by the current management.

Other senior personnel mentioned in the police report were the chief operating officer Datuk Adi Azuan Abdul Ghani, chief financial officer Datuk Rozaida Omar, legal adviser Hazlina Mohd Khalid and senior general manager for corporate services and real estate Rifina Md Ariff.

The first report involves Yayasan Tabung Haji ( YTH) 2017 programme whereby funds amounting to more than RM22 million were channelled for activities allegedly with political inclinations.

YTH was established in 2016 to implement, among others, humanitarian aid as well as to channel donations for the less fortunate, the poor and the needy.

TH had contributed RM7 million to the programme.

The second report was against Ismee, Hazlinda and Rifina related to alleged misrepresentations and withholding of material information involving TH’s 2012 sale of 95 per cent shareholdings in PT TH Indo Plantations held by two of its subsidiaries, namely TH Indopalms Sdn Bhd (THI) and TH Indo Industries Sdn Bhd (THII), to PT Borneo Pacific ( PT Borneo) for US$ 910 million ( RM3.7 billion).

According to the statement, PT TH Indo Plantations owns a total of 83,000 hectares of palm oil estates in Indonesia. — Bernama
