Over 300 international delegates expected to attend 23rd ATA

-

KUCHING: Over 300 international delegates from the film and entertainment industry are expected to attend the 23rd Asian Television Awards (ATA) on Jan 11-13 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching ( BCCK).

A press release yesterday said they include the créme de la créme of film producers, directors, performers, host talents, judges, nominees, celebrities, and key sponsors from the participating countries all over Asia.

This event, organised by Asian Television Awards Sdn Bhd and fully supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, will be televised ‘live’ in 22 countries and is expected to be watched by two billion viewers.

Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah held a coordination meeting on Nov 21 with the organiser and all relevant government departments and agencies to support and ensure that the event would promote Sarawak successfully.

It is expected to give Visit Sarawak Year a far bigger reach in the Asian market as it will not only present awards to celebrities, but also will promote Sarawak globally among them.

There will be 42 categories to recognise best performance, programming, and production excellence of the Asian television industry.

A gala dinner will be held on the first day of the event, while the live show, with the red carpet segment and performance awards presentation, will be held on the second day, to be followed by a public concert on Jan 13 at BCCK, which is the venue sponsor.
