Sukma golfer takes KGS Monthly title in December

KUCHING: Sukma gol fer Matthew Peregriine Ong lifted the men’s gross title in Group A when he fired a five- over 77 in the KGS December Monthly Medals golf competitio­n at Kelab Golf Sarawak in Petra Jaya last Saturday.

Coming in second six strokes further back was Johari Amran while the nett champion was Lee Kah Ming who shot a 70 with Hamzah Hassan second after he beat Abdul Aziz Ismail on count back (OCB) as both had similar 72. The Group B men’s gross winner was Lim Tek Huat who pipped Mohammad Hafiz Abang Abdul Rahman OCB (both returned a 96). Lee Hun Jun took the men’s nett title with a 75.

Second and third were Eddy Ho Kat Kee and Darren Tan with 77 and 78 strokes respective­ly.

Meanwhile, Ismail @ Razali Dolhan won the Group C men’s gross after he carded a 101, beating Dr Mak Met by two strokes.

Top three in the nett contest were Syed Rosley Wan Hashim (73), Benny Chew Kim Swee (75) and Iman Sallahuddi­n Mohd Lokman (76).

The Men Senior gross champion was Abang Abdul Rahman ( 83) who beat Abu Bakar Kiprawi by two strokes while Abdul Rani Mohd Pauzi was the nett champion with a 70 followed by Zayadi Sebeli (74) and Law Wai Min (77).

Angeline Jerembai Ong claimed the Ladies gross title with 96 strokes while Rachel Shane was second with 118.

Ashley Yii Ro Wen shot a 66 to claim the nett title ahead of Ho Yunxi ( 77) and club secretary Pauline Gan Guet Beng (73).

Prizes were given away by KGS captain Henry Chuo.
