Whole year of weekly games for 2019 NCS

SIBU: The Nangka Challenge Series ( NCS) wil l see more games included next year, according to Assistant Minister for Education, Science and Technologi­cal Research Dr Annuar Rapaee.

He said the series will stretch throughout the whole year with games played every week.

This year’s series saw a total of 2,054 participan­ts.

“In our current NCS format, the four games - futsal, football 7a- side, bowling and sepak takraw - were played monthly over a period of four months.

“Next year, the same four games will be held during the last four or five months of the year,” he said at the the 2018 NCS prize- giving cum dinner on Sunday.

He added that new games will be held earlier including archery, drag race, street hockey and badminton.

Meanwhi le, pri ze money totalling RM49,000 was given out on Sunday.

Nazario ( Sibu) and Tibak Baok ( Kuching) won the men and women’s categories for futsal.

DBKU 4 axis ( Kuching) was sepak takraw champion.

Champions in the 7- a- side football and bowling were Puviged Bng ( Kota Samarahan) and Semangat Sibu respective­ly.

NCS is joint ly organised by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu ( PBB) Sibu, Nangka Sports, Culture, Social and Unity Secretaria­t and Nangka Constituen­cy Service Centre.
