KUCHING: The body of Chin Hsien Loong, the Penangite who died in the explosion at CityONE Megamall on Tuesday, will be flown back to his home state.

This was revealed by his younger sister, who arrived here from Australia yesterday after learning of what happened.

According to her, Chin was one of the shareholders of the food chain where the blast had occurred.

“He was here ( Kuching) for the past one week to inspect the renovation works and to prepare for the grand opening,” she told reporters.

The outlet was supposed to have opened yesterday.

Separately, the elder brother of Tchee Kiam Jong, another victim killed in the blast, told The Borneo Post that his late sibling had only just completed his three-month probation with a pipe-installation company.

He said Kiam Jong had previously worked in Singapore for two years before returning to Kuching to operate a chicken rice shop with a friend.

“Their business was not doing well so he opted to work as a pipe installer under a company belonging to my friend,” said the brother.

Meanwhile, it was learned that one of those who survived the explosion was the 60-yearold owner of a cleaning service company.

The victim sustained serious injuries to his abdomen after concrete debris landed on him, and is currently warded at Sarawak General Hospital.

He was with four workers at the time of the incident, but was the only one among them who was wounded.
