CIMB launches Ho Chi Minh City Digital Lounge, OCTO mobile banking app
HO CHI MINH CITY: CIMB Bank ( Vietnam) Ltd ( CIMB Vietnam) unveiled its first Digital Lounge in Ho Chi Minh City and launched its OCTO by CIMB (OCTO) mobile banking app for consumers. Ho Chi Minh City hosts CIMB Bank Vietnam’s first branch presence following the establishment of its headquarters in Hanoi in 2016.
The launch also marks the beginning of CIMB Vietnam’s digital banking proposition, inaugurated by OCTO, which offers fast, secure and convenient 24/7 mobile banking.
The digital lounge was officiated by Datuk Mohd Nasir Ahmad, chairman of CIMB Group; Tengku Datuk Sri Zafrul Aziz, Group CEO of CIMB Group; Dato’ Wira Zainal Abidin, chairman of CIMB Vietnam; Samir Gupta, CEO of Group Consumer Banking, CIMB Group and Thomson Fam Siew Kat, CEO of CIMB Vietnam, witnessed by representatives from the State Bank of Vietnam, as well as the Consulate General of Malaysia and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation based in Ho Chi Minh City.
Zafrul Aziz said this marks a momentous occasion as CIMB launched its inaugural Digital Lounge and OCTO mobi le banking app in Vietnam, which not only demonstrates the bank’s long term commitment to the Vietnamese market but also our ambition to continue contributing to the growth and development of Asean.

During the launch, there was also a demonstration of how simple it was to register for, authenticate and activate CIMB Vietnam’s OCTO, which is equipped with versatile features to help customers manage their finances speedily, conveniently, securely and in real time 24/7, providing an excellent, seamless customer experience for subscribers.
