Double joy as Justin twins receive scrolls from Fajar International College
MIRI: It was definitely a day of double joy for twins Charis Lorin Justin and Charis Colin Justin who received their scrolls during the recent convocation ceremony of Fajar International College (FIC).
Both Lorin and Colin Justin, a pair of Kayan boys from Miri, graduated with Diploma in Business Studies (DBS).
Born in 1997, the twins pursued their field of interest in Diploma in Business Studies, a programme which is fully accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and widely recognised in the industry.
Another core programme of FIC is Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (DipOSH) which is the only DipOSH programme to obtain recognition from the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia, besides the MQA accreditation in East Malaysia.
Graduates of the programme can register as Safety and Health Officers (or SHO) with DOSH with three years of relevant working experience.
Prospective students should know that only graduates with Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health that are recognised and endorsed by DOSH can apply to register as SHOs.
SHOs must be registered with Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH)and have its approval to practise in Malaysia.
Upon approval, DOSH will issue a safety passport known as the ‘Green Book’.
The diploma also provides an alternative pathway for graduates to enter the field of construction site safety, as it is recognised by DOSH as a qualification to apply for the ‘Yellow Book’, a mandatory document for those who intend to work as a construction site safety supervisor.
The Diploma has secured accreditation and official recognition from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, United Kingdom (IOSH-UK), an international standard whereby the course content has been duly assessed and complies with global academic requirements on occupational safety and health.
The January 2019 intake is now open for registration.
