KH Motor unveils new Proton X70

-

KOTA SAMARAHAN: The much-anticipated Proton X70 was unveiled at KH Motor – located at Jalan Datuk Mohd Musa, here – at a starting price of RM99,800 (without insurance) yesterday.

Proton Edar Sarawak ( Sales) state manager Ahmadi Abdul Latif said customers who want to purchase the X70 Premium model in red will have to book their vehicle exclusively at KH Motor.

“Currently there are only seven Proton centres in Sarawak that offer the new X70 as they are either a 3S or a 4S Proton authorised dealer,” he told a press conference at KH Motor.

With a price tag ranging from RM99,800 to RM123,800 for different variants, Ahmadi said this is also the first Proton vehicle where the price will be the same in East and West Malaysia.

“The X70 will also come with a five-year warranty regardless of the vehicle’s mileage. So for those who want to drive from Kuching all the way to Kota Kinabalu, they will not have to worry about their high mileage,” he added.

The X70, he said, is a sports utility vehicle ( SUV) and an energy efficient vehicle ( EEV), meaning its fuel consumption is much lower comparatively to other SUVs in the same class.

As of 11am yesterday, KH Motor has received more than 40 bookings for the X70 and the response, said Ahmadi, is very encouraging.

He admitted that the price of the vehicle prior to its official launch on Dec 12 also came as a bit of a surprise as everyone was expecting it to be much higher.

For the X70 Premium 2WD, the price starts at RM123,800; X70 Executive AWD ( RM115,800); X70 Executive 2WD ( RM109,800) and the X70 Standard 2WD (RM99,800).
