Proton X70 unveiled at Ngu’s Motor Service

SIBU: The much-awaited sports utility vehicle (SUV) from Proton, the X70, was simultaneo­usly launched yesterday at various locations throughout the country.

In Sibu, the X70 was launched at the Proton 4S facility of Ngu’s Motor Service Sdn Bhd in Bukit Lima, jointly officiated by the company’s managing director Dato Sri Peter Ngu, executive director Esther Kong and director Jeffery Ngu.

Proton X70 is an intelligen­t smart SUV equipped with `take control through touch and voice command’, advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), lane departure warning ( LDW), blind spot informatio­n system ( BLIS), door opening warning system (DOW), and intelligen­t high beam control (IHBC).

It also has a 360- degree camera and parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system ( TPMS), reinforced safety structure, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist (HHA), hill descent control (HDC) and six SRS airbags. Available in four variants, it is priced between RM99,800 and RM123,800 (on-the-road, without insurance).

The Proton X70 is the first vehicle jointly developed by Proton and its China-based partner, Geely. It is the first premium SUV by a Malaysian automotive brand.

The X70 will also introduce the Proton brand to a new market segment and become a key catalyst for the total rejuvenati­on of the brand. With the launch of the SUV, Proton also created history for being the first national automotive brand to offer a vehicle at the same price for buyers in Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.

The X70 also comes with an unlimited mileage warranty.
