Centexs to be Huawei’s skills-training partner in South East Asia

KUCHING: The Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (Centexs) has created history by being Huawei’s first skills-training provider in South East Asia.

According to Centexs chief executive officer Syeed Mohd Hussien Wan Abd Rahman, the collaborat­ion would enable Centexs to open its training and digital lab here.

He also pointed out that the course, to be provided by Huawei, would be open to local trainees and those from other South East Asian countries.

“Centexs has establishe­d its first digital training and digital lab in Kuching and is set to be the first South East Asia’s regional Huawei certified specialist­s training partner.

“This is an initiative to prepare youths for the digital world and contribute to Sarawak’s digital economy,” he said at Centexs’ fourth convocatio­n at Penview Convention Centre Demak (PCCD) here yesterday, where Minister in Chief Minister’s Office ( Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talip Zulpilip officiated.

A total of 442 Centexs trainees received their certificat­es, including 15 who were awarded ‘Certificat­e of Excellence’.

Murum State assemblyma­n Kennedy Chukpai Ugon, Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) general manager Dr Zaidi Razak and Yayasan Sarawak representa­tive Ellen @ Manium Engang were also present.
